Galus was first in Odessa, then in Berislav on the Dnieper River, where journalists found a photo of him with Ukrainian soldiers. Galos was last seen on 20 April in Hryhorivka in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, where Ukrainian soldiers turned him back at a checkpoint, warning him that it was dangerous to continue his journey. Galos explained to them that he was going to visit his girlfriend in occupied Energodar and turned back, after which he had to find another way across the front line because contact with him was lost there. Further information comes from Ukrainian prisoners of war held in Taganrog, who saw him being beaten by Russians for months and then dying.
